I am setting up a small network with one machine serving as much as it can to the client machines. I have NFS and NIS running and I seem to be able to do most things from the client machines. At the moment I have only exported /usr/local and /home from the "server" machine. I chose these directories rather randomly as a test. My goal is to centralize as much of the network as I can for a *typical* NFS/NIS combination set up. In an attempt to cut down on admin. head aches I will happily follow whatever is standard and customary - but I have been unable to find a nice description of this. What directories are commonly placed in /etc/exports?

Thanks!
