Connect linux to internet via XP internet sharing
Hi. Im having problems connecting my slackware 10.1 to the internet. I have an XP machine setup with connection sharing with both machines connected to a hub.
I seem to be able to get my slackware machine an IP address using DHCP but i can't ping any sites. Loopback is working. I have tried disabling my firewall on the XP machine but am having no luck.
Any help would be great,
Thanks, Mark

make sure you can ping your xp maching and that it is set ip as your gateway. (dhcp should have done it unless you have manually configured something somewhere) and even then you may still have to maually configure you dns servers

DNS is something to edit in your /etc/resolv.conf and you'll probably have to specify a gateway if not set by the dhcp server.
I\'m so tired .....
