    disable lan card in text mode

    I use debian sarge and like it alot
    in home when i want connect to internet i have to use modem
    if i want use modem first i have to disable or deactive my lan card
    in this time i do not have graphical mode and i do not know how i can disable my lan card in text mode

    i would be gratefull if any one say me how i can disable or enable network in text mode if i do not have graphical mode

    I think you should be able to :
    ifconfig eth0 down
    ...or maybe...
    ifdown eth0
    I think that in Fedora and others, you will find one or both of these commands in /etc/sysconfig/network/ or a subdirectory of that.
