handshaking problem in powerpc

Hi friends,

II was working in enabling handshaking in PowerPc
MPC5200 and its working but there is a problem which
goes like this.

When I enable handshaking in the serial port
"stty -F /dev/ttyS1 crtscts" and then type
"echo test > /dev/ttyS1" if nothing is reading on
the other side then ttyS1 should wait until it gets the acknowledgement. But the
above command just ends and returns to the new command prompt after some time like 15
seconds. I could just know that it is happeneing
somewhere in tty layer but nothing more than that. Any hints ???????

Hello i forgot to ell the version ..it is 2.4.27 ... and the processor is MPC5200 ..
