Thinking about linux
I have a question, how does it do networking with Windows. I network to transfer music from the family machine that I ripped then lost the CD And I play Quake 3 with friends at LAN parties. This question is keeping me from linux.

I found that using FTP has less trouble, and is very simple to set up. I use Pure-FTPd

As for quake, I've heard ID's games work well on linux, as long as you have the graphics drivers installed (this IMHO is easier if you have an Nvidia graphics card).

Now you can play almost any game you want in Linux
