Synching user accounts & passwords between Linux boxes
I have a number of Linux boxes, both RH and SuSe, on my network. I don't necessarily need to be able to synch it with my AD, because that's not a big deal. Users had been going in through FTP/Telnet, but are now utilizing SCP/SSH.
My question is, everytime I overhaul a system (like I just did one machine where I reinstalled the OS, going from RH7.3 to SuSe 9.1) I have to re-enter all the users, and also their passwords, which isn't really good security.
I'd like a way where I can synch all machines via a master node, or master list of some sort.
Is there an app that does this?
Thanks!!
