What do you exactly mean by "configuring VLAN to the network interface card"?
Do you mean enabling a trunking protocol such as 802.1Q in order to configure several virtual interfaces on one single physical interface ?

I made it work on a unix (solaris) box but I never tried on a linux one. However while searching for howto for solaris, I found alot of stuff for linux that might help you:
http://www.hupo.org.cn/docs/linuxdoc...-1.6/vlan.html
http://www.linuxhorizon.ro/vlans.html
Hope that'll help..
