Printing to remote printer
PC 1 - Red Hat 9
PC 2 - XP
Connected through a switch. Samba sees the shared directories on the XP machine but won't see the printer attached via usb port on the XP machine.
Any idea how I can print to it from the RH PC?

OK...printing in Linux is one of the more difficult things to do, but I've gotten both local USB printing and remote printing working...you have to make sure that the printer is shared (of course) and that you have cups and foomatic installed. Start cupsd.
Then you go into the Printer setup in your gui (in KDE it's Control Panel->Peripherials->Printers. Add a new printer and play around with the settings a little. That's as specific of instructions as I can give atm. Let us know if you need any further help (with more info). Good Luck.

You could've just said that it was an HP PSC.

I just bought a PSC 1210 and installed it. Haven't gotten around to the scanning, but the printer was cake to install. Let me know how the scanning part goes.
