Can't ping my computer
Dear ALL,
You have all been very helpful in the past so I'm hoping you can help me with the following as well.
I'm trying to set up a VNC connection on my box. I think the installation was successful since I can access the kde desktop from a internal web browser typing http://<IP Address>:5801. However, when I try to access my box from an outside computer using the same http command it does not connect. When I try to ping my box from an outside computer it simply times out. I've been trying to resolve this issue for some time now but I've no success as yet... it's actually driving me mad.
Thanks for your help.

Outside computer is the one located on your LAN or it's the computer connected to internet?
In first case check to see if your firewall blocks connections on certain network interfaces or ports on those interfaces.
In second case make sure that your computer has an external IP address different from the one your have on your LAN, and refer to it from other computer connected to internet. After that again make sure that firewall is not blocking that external interface on your PC.
