bandwidth limiting
i am using fedora and doing the bandwidth limiting with HTB.
I think i am loosing packets because of this, i think.
I would like to know if this is the best way or i can use something better for limiting.

Not sure on HTB, but on cisco's traffic shaping packets are dropped if the packet queue gets too full. This may be what's happening with HTB. It shouldn't be that much of an issue, though, since packets will (should) get re-sent. I'd check out the manual/docs for HTB to be sure, though:
