Remote connection
Greetings,
I am wondering how to remotely connect to a red hat 9 box via Windows XP - I have learned that Remote Desktop will not work - Google search wasn't too helpful, not sure what I am searching for...
is it an app that gets installed on the RH box and the Windows box connects to it...?
Looking to be able to connect graphically, not via command line.
Thank you.

I use the standard VNC service on my server. It is configured through /etc/sysconfig/vncservers
The vnc server does not operate like VNC in windows, it provides a VNC-only view of your desktop. You can still log in locally (or even remotely) using X, if you want, it doesn't interfere with the vnc desktop. To view it you need to use the VNC protocol (vncviewer) even locally.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/
