Help with an experimental router setup
Hello All,
I am setting up an experimental router. I setup a router to route packets from an internal LAN with private IP addresses and using NAT (iptables). But lots of packets are being dropped at the router. Hence I decided to use public IP addresses for the internal LAN. No article helped me in this direction, since all were explaining about using a private IP address like 192.xx.xx.xx for the internal LAN. My typical setup would be something like LAN (internal) <---> (eth1-130.138.6.21) ROUTER <---> (eth0 - 130.138.6.22) LAN (external) . Also, the hosts in the internal network have public ip addresses like 130.138.6.xx. I would like to know if this setup is possible in the first place, if so any useful suggestions in the direction would be appreciated. THanks a zillion all.
