in mandrake 10.1 i am using amule ..and i need static ip..from manage your connection menu can i tell me what should i do to get static iip.....i have opened ports from my modem..

to get a static ip you have to get it from your isp; however, if you have a dsl or cable broadband connection then you virtually have a static ip, it might change one a year or so. If the second be the case then use your dynamic ip as a static ip...thats it, you will have to change your settings once a year or so...to figure out your ip on any machine then try www.whatismyip.com
