Invisible Linux server
Hi guys,
I have just installed a server in my house to use as a SQL server in some experiments that I am doing. The server itself works awesome but when I tried to connect to the server from my laptop I don't see anything an dI don't saw the router either. please help me.. the laptop have Win XP instaled and is contected to internet thru the router.
Please help me indicating a some pinpoint to start my research since I expend almost all saturday looking for a solution.

check the public (all or world)permissions in the server config file
