SBC dial-up with a pretty generic 56k modem

    Hey,
i have dial up...yeah thats pretty mucha problem in itslef.
anyways my ISP is Sbc yahoo(sbcglobal.net). i tried to make my connection by going to internet connection wizard. unfortunatly my modem wasn't detected by the program, so i just chose generic. what i noticed first is there are no settings for modems in the US, only Uk slovenia, and the like. (did i mention im using Fedora 3) anyways i just put in all the info on the left of the window, dialing munber and username nd pass. but when i try to activate it won't work. would putting in the sbc cd ithat i got when ii got the ISp be of any use? i think i have it somehwere.
    THank you for any replies

The fact that your modem wasn't detected may suggest that it is a winmodem (details of hardware would possibly help here) ... anyway there is a site tutorial on setting up a winmodem which may help (even if you have a 'real' modem)
