Hello all. I`m sorry if i missposted in the wrong forum..

I need a simple program that runs as a daemon under linux and pings some ips (of my choice) and then generates an (preferable html) output like:
host 1 has been online today from 13:31 to 14:51 etc.

I don`t really need anything more than this. I`ve tried nagios and it`s waaaaay too complex for my needs.
