unknown symbol: NDIS.SYS:NdisMIndicateStatus when using ndiswrapper

I have a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter, model: F5D7051uk
I have installed ndiswrapper and copied the Windows drivers. ndiswrapper compiles and installs ok, it installs the driver and displays "driver present, hardware present". However it refuses to load the driver. Using dmesg I found the error messages:

I have tried it with both ndiswrapper 1.5 and 1.6rc.

Anyone know whats causing this or how it could be fixed?

my distro is Ubunutu 5.10
