Hello everyone
I'm trying to install a Icedata 500, USB modem ina a Ubunto distro.
I've read a lot of Howto's and tryed a lot of diferente drivers. but the modem is not recognized by the system.
This pc is a dual boot machine , and whit XP SP2 it works just fine.
I want to purge the XP out of the machine, but I cant have acessec to thw internet whith the Ubunto and the Icedata Modem.
If anyone would be so kind to tell me how to do it.
Keep it real simple as I'm a rookie on Linux.
If possible try to explain all the procedures and avoid techinal linux terms.
Thanks a lot.
Have a nice Xmas

It could be that it's a winmodem. Have you tried looking here: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto.html?
