Mepis wireless card HELP!!!!!!!
I switched to Mepis Linux back in 2003 and still have not gotten my WMP54G linksys wireless card to work. I have already tried installing the drivers with Ndiswrapper, but when i list the drivers in the terminal, it says that the drivers i installed are "invalid drivers". Even when i go to the OS center it says my wifi card is not found. If anybody can help me please post back.............
Thanx

look at the output from this command:
if you see an entry which has wireless in it somewhere, the system has detected the card, but all you need is the drivers. If it doesn't see anything, the problem might actually be with the card itself, i.e. hardware problem.Code:/sbin/lspci
if it sees the card, why not try a different driver which others have used to get the card to work, see this site for more info: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/ListLife is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.

Also, don't use the drivers that came with the device on a cd. They usually don't work.

Alright..........i found a site with a different set of drivers that worked with my card. i installed them with ndiswrapper and the list command said that the driver, as well as the hardware, was present........So i rebooted. it loaded the drivers and worked perfectly. But, those are only the drivers. Now....im guessing the card is the problem. Mepis is saying that the card is not found. Any suggestions or should i get a different card?
