Setting up a printer through CUPS
Hey, I run suse 10.0 if that makes any differences. Im using CUPS so it shouldnt matter. Anyway...
I have a Canon Pixma MP500 hooked up to a USB1 port on a windows computer. I am connected through a simple wireless router (this computer and the computer that the printer is connected to are hardwired). How can i set up CUPS to use a smb connection? The setup should look like this:
smb://workgroup/server/sharename
and mine looks like this:
smb://home/lauren/
home is the name of the network and lauren is the name of the computer that the printer is hooked up through. How can i find the sharename?

when you enable printer sharing in windows. Windows will ask for you to create a name for your shared printer.
