    dhcpd is the DHCP server, ie. the program that hands IP addresses to other computers. dhcpcd (or dhclient or pump depending on the distro), on the other hand, is the program that gets your computer an IP address from a DHCP server.
    There seemed to be some confusion about that, so I just thought I'd clear it up.

    Okay, thanks I didnt know that, my system cant run dhcpcd, what can I do to fix this (since i cant connect to the internet because of it)

    Different distros have different DHCP client daemons. Have you tried dhclient or pump?

    I had a problem similar to this, not only did I have to restart my router, ,I had to unplug my cable modem before it would work. Maybe that could help.
