    Help Networking Windows XP to Linux Mandrake 7.2 to only share the Internet

    Can some one please help me how to connect 2 PCs togother peer to peer no hubs no devices only wires a physical wire connecting both PCs.

    so far I have set up IP add

    PC1 which has XP 192.168.0.x (Yes I have enabled sharing for the Internet)
    PC2 which has Linux 192.168.0.x

    Then I have set up the default gate way for the Linix

    i got connection established but when i ping 100% packet loss for both PCs

    Please suggest any ideas or give a step by step from the begininnig

    I like to start off simple and suggest that the cable you are using to connect the two computers is a "crossover" cable and not one that connects to a hub.
