4 ports no stopping now
first things first hello everyone
Id like to ask a few questions
first some basic information
Im running Fedora Core 4 on an AMD sempron with 512 ram and 4 ethernet ports
Id like to run this config
eth 0 home desktop (192.168.2.1)
eth 1 incomming cable from comcast (DHCP)
eth 3 wireless linksys access point for laptop and xbox 360 (192.168.2.2)
eth 4 will be a just in case type deal (192.168.2.3)
how is it possible for me to set this up.
I was told to create
/etc/hostname.xxxx
which needs to contain the hostname and the IP address
my scheme is going to be as listed above
Im aware that Ill need to create these files under root in the etc dir but as far as what they contain or how they should look im clueless.
Ive never delt with Linux before
I just want to get this thing working.
Thanks for all your help
