MADWIFI-NG Driver Loading Problems in Backtrack Linux LiveDistro

Yea so I make and make install after removing old modules and stuff. I get the error message:

Fatal: error inserting ath_pci. (/lib/modules/2.6.12.2/kernel/drms/net/madwifi/ath_pci.ko): unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

I would have printed out the dmesg command but i can't seem to get internet working in there :P and I save to text then can't see the file in windows.

Hopefully without recompiling hte kernel or something ( i can't in a live distro cause you can't reboot?)...how can I fix this error? I was reading some of madwifi's documentation and they mentioned similar errors and referred to setting kernal properties in config or something but I don't understand.

I'm pretty new to linux so go easy

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
