    Can't get AcerHK to work!

    Hey guys, for my specific model, Acer Aspire 1640, having AcerHK install actually controls access of the wireless lan capabilities. So I kinda need it installed...

    So after an upgrade to Ubuntu 6.06 my wireless didn't work, so I tried to reinstall the acerhk but when I run modprobe I get an error.

    Code:
    $ sudo modprobe acerhk
    FATAL: Error inserting acerhk (/lib/modules/2.6.15-23-386/extra/acerhk.ko): Invalid module format
    It worked on Ubuntu 5.10. Anyone know what's going on? I'm at a lost here.

    Im not too familiar with the acer, or these new distros of linux, but why dont you try to use ndiswrapper with the windows inf to enable the wireless.

    Paste your lspci.

    there is direct support for that chipset from the manufacturer.

    Search sourceforge for the 2200BG there is a whole project on there including firmware.

    Yeah I have the drivers installed and I can use my regular ethernet port. It's just that I need to install AcerHK to let the wireless connect. Everything else says it's working, I even tried hitting fn+F2 to activate the wireless but it doesn't work. I've found that the only way to get the wireless working is to install acerhk.
