How to enable gigabit link on 82541GI Ethernet Controller?
Hello everyone,
A few days ago I moved my home server from Windows 2003 over to CentOS. Things are going well so far, but today I've noticed that the Ethernet card is running in 100baseTx-FD mode instead of gigabit which it supports.
It's a built-in controller on the Supermicro X6DVL-EG motherboard. I'm running CentOS 4.3 x86_64 (kernel version 2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp). It used gigabit with no problems in Windows, but when I run "mii-tool -v" in CentOS, gigabit isn't even listed in capabilities.
Any advice on how I can get it to work in gigabit mode? Thanks!
P.S. Just as a note, I looked on the Supermicro's website for any drivers (there were none), and did some searching on google, but didn't come up with much.

Bump... How about this then - how would you go about enabling gigabit link on a card that supported it (and the support was detected)?
