    so I need, how many?

    Well now I am trying to build my first LAN, and I am trying to use my desktop (linux) to act as the router for my other PC (windows), my question is do I need a second Network Interface Card like

    1-one card for the DSL modem
    2-2nd one that goes to my switch

    Yes, for routing you will need a NIC for the local interface and another for the external. Routing is different from ICS in Windows.
