    Copperjet 800 And Mandrake 9.2


    Hi,

    I just downloaded the drivers for the copperjet 800 adsl modem and when i run make in the directory i get the following error:

    Code:

    You need to install a C compiler (gcc), there should be a package for it on your installation CD's.

    Thanks for the fast reply i had installed gcc but now i get the error message :

    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lusb

    make[1]:*** [5160] Error 1 
    make[1]:leaving dir the dir i was doing the make in 
    make:*** [911] error 2
    i know it has something to do with installing libusb but im a total noob could you please explane how i would do this on mandrake 9.2

    download libusb from http://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb/

    then it should just be a case of extracting (tar zxf <filename>), cd <filename_dir>, run make, then make install (as root). after that, run ldconfig, then try to install the copperjet software again.
