My modem is set-up and wvdial is trying to connect to the net, but im having problems with the wvdial.conf.

.::Another Modem Problem::.
Hey all.
My modem is set-up and wvdial is trying to connect to the net, but im having problems with the wvdial.conf.
he problem is it's saying that i haven't supplied a proper: .
1). Phone Number;
2). User Name;
3). Password
Thou my phone number and internet account is all correct. Im using Fedora Core 1. My ISP is Freeserve. Please some1 help me.....

When you sys first starts, do you see on the screen if a service called "pppd" has started or not? i.e ppp0 or ppp1 etc...

open the file
/etc/wvdial.conf
in a text editor and add the username phonenumber and pass in this format:
Phone = 08089863282
Username = bigmomma
Password = s9p4rst4r5
P.S you sould really have continued the last post you made about modems.

Thanks for the advice. soz about no posting in the same topic, im abit new to forums :S (not sure if this has gone to here i wanted it to!)
Neway it's connecting to the internet, but im getting d/c after 10 to 20 seconds, have you got ne information and tell me why and how i can solve this, thanks alot.

Please post the entire output of wvdial from beginning to end.
