    network problem in fedora 5


    dear friends,
    i installed fedora 5 in my amd (xp3000+, gigabyte board) pc. my network is not working. network card is identified,network manager is working, still i could not use network. the machine is self pinging. network is working in windows. service network -ok. . i downloaded driver from nvidia. but i could not install because it wants to recompile the kernel. the source rpms are not available in my machine. i am not an expert in source, kernel. please help me out.

    Did you try ifconfig and make sure that all the settings are right IP, mask, and GW. If not check your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and make sure it is set to dhcp and ifdown and ifup it.
