Linux Zmodem to Hyperterminal over Serial
Hello:
I am trying send a file between my Kubuntu linux PC and a Microsoft OS PC via direct connection over their serial ports.
I am using the lrzsz Zmodem package on the Linux PC and running hyperterminal on the Windows PC.
Executing:
sz -b foo.txt > /dev/ttyS0
on the Linux side and setting up hyperterminal to receive does not work.
The man pages for sz, rz suggest needing a dial-up program. What dial-up programs are generally used for this? Where would I find them, and what is the syntax.
(I can send a file between two Microsoft PCs over serial using Hyperterminal without performing a terminal login, and this is the way that I would like the linux to PC transfer to work)
Thanks,
Barry
