BSNL dataone modem problem
Hi All,
My dataone broadband ADSL modem DB108 connects perfectly when using my MS windows. however when i've logged on using linux i am unable even to ping to the modem(192.168.1.1).
The fact that it works on my windows takes away any possibility that it is some wiring issue.
Any idea of what it could be ?
Thanks,

Please try this...
1] Open terminal (if u are using a gui i.e. KDE/GNONE)
2] type in - ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.100 up
3] type in - ping 192.168.1.1
If ping successfull . run setup i.e.
1] type in - setup
2] select network config menu
3] set i.p. for u r lancard and select option activate on boot

If u are using some new REALTEK lan card then check for drivers...
