Can't ping Linuxbox from Windows machine
I hope this is the right spot for this thread. I apologize if it's not.
Mandriva 2007
WindowsXP
Linux can ping Windows.
Windows can't ping Linux.
Linux can't ping self.
Firewall is disabled.
Linux has static ipaddress.
WinXP has ipaddress through dhcp/Linksys router.
Both machines have same subnet mask, same gateway.
If the Linux box obtains ipaddy through dhcp, Windows can ping Linux & vice versa - but, this is not what I'm interested in.
What do you recommend I do?
Thanks in advance.

What is the IP address you are assigning to the Linux box? There are certain ones reserved for specific functions on each subnet.
