Testing a new nic
I've just placed a US Robotics 10/100 nic (model - 7900) in my pc and switched it on. SuSE didn't say it found anything. I went into Yast2 and the network car section. I clicked add and just clicked next till the end of the wizard.
I now have what saysIs there any way I can test to see if my network card is installed correctly and working. I haven't installed the network yet so no cable is plugged in to the card.Code:Ethernet Network Card Configured as eth0 with DHCP
Any help please (BTW everything works fine in winfdows)
thanks

try to check if eth0 is up with the command ifconfig. You can also check if the modules for the NIC is up with lsmod. dmesg and /var/log/messages should also have some information.
Good luck
