internet connection sharing from RHEL4 to XP
I am using a desktop which is in RHEL4 and laptop having XP wireless.
The desktop has two nics eth0 and ra0 (wireless). eth0 has static ip and dns set. ra0 is having ip 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0 as snetmask.
I setup the internet sharing following the instructions from the site http://www.shaftek.org/blog/archives/000182.html
Sharing the connection.
The actual sharing component in Linux is done via the firewall (iptables or ipchains depending on the Kernel version). For the 2.6 kernels, the iptables command is used. You need add the following to "/etc/sysconfig/network" file on Fedora:
and run a set of commands:
/sbin/iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
But it doesnt work. Can anyone help me what I should do for setting an internet connection sharing through wireless.
