    Question Debian ethc, what is that?

    You may be able to use the official Etch installer, but a daily build (as Etch RC1 won't work) :

    It is a PATA one, but I don't think it matter that much. The motherboard is what matters.

    Sorry for not being clear. I was referring to 2 different options. Either you use the custom sarge installer, or you can use a Etch installer (from the daily build), like this one

    But if you are looking for something easier, I'm sure you can install openSuse 10.2 on that machine.
