I want to connect two LAN over a distance of 6km (3.73 miles).
Wifi hardware is cheap, but I just want a point-to-point connection, and in the other hand I think wifi's high frequencies won't work on such a mountainous terrain (there is no visual link)
I made tests using two old rs232 radio modems at 433MHZ and worked fine, but 9600 baud is much less than I wish.
I have been thinking on designing some ad-hoc protocol & hardware to get more bandwith, but I bet there is a standard protocol somewhere which meets my specifications and works a way better than any homemade stuff i can make on my spare time.
┐Wich protocol would you choose?
