Linux distro with the best Winmodem support?
Hi all,
I frequently install Linux on friends' computers, and I've been spending way too much time messing around trying to get various Winmodems to work. So I'm looking for the distro with the best Winmodem support right out of the box. Other priorities are:
* KDE
* Live & install on one CD is a big plus
* Re-inventing the wheel is a minus (e.g. Freespire's package manager etc.)
* Good support for video hardware etc.
Basically I need to be able to walk up to a Windows machine, install Linux, and be outa there without spending half a day on it. Anyone have a suggestion?
I've been using mostly PCLinuxOS, but at the moment I'm having a problem with an Intel 536EP modem, which it doesn't support.
Thanks,
Dan
