    physical location based on IP


    My strange question for the day.
    What possibilities are to find out an approximate physical location of a computer (ie, town, county, etc) by looking at the IP ?
    I know nslookup, whois, traceroute provide some information but it's very vague.
    Any ideas ?

    you may want to look into GeoIP

    you can try Ip global positioning . Gives accurate information and show map too.
