Prob connecting to net using fc6
My friend recently got a Broadband connection and he decided to surf through FC6.The thing is his ethernet card is detected and IP information is also recieved by the computer. But he couldn browse pages even though he is connected to the web.The error message was "Connection to the server was not established".
Why do such thing occur?
- He used to enter his username and password before logging into his broadband connection in windows.
If he needs to do the same thing in Linux and browse, what should he do?

It depends on his ISP, some require a specific client, others require other specific methods to "authenticate"
I would suggest he check his ISP's homepage for information or search for the name of his ISP +linux +connect in google
Unfortunately I can't offer much more of a solution with exceptionally specific details about the ISP
