    help on internet

    hello,

    iam having a net for my sytsem with private ip address from local provider using dhcp lease..

    my question is.......

    After completion of my lease time ..........i did like this

    step 1: first i changed my mac address with a different one...

    step 2: next i type at the shell service network restart.....

    step 3: now i got a different ip address compared ro previous...

    then

    iam able to acces the internet service

    my doubt is how it is possible, what is the reason behind it.

    can anybody tell me pls..........

    Your IP should be renewed automatically. Do you start a FW after you got your initial IP and block the DHCP ports?
