    hi all,
    is there a distro OTHER than linspire/freespire that is dial up friendly?
    im stuck using dial up for six weeks or so and i hate linspire/freespire i love ubuntu and mephis i tried the kppp in both with out luck any ideas ??

    in kppp when i try to configure my modem after i name it no matter which modem device i chose its not seen when i hit "query modem"i tried with " use lock file" checked as well as un- checked i also have like 4 pci dial up modems and have tried with all 4

    only thing that works is the lousy aol dialer packaged with linspire , I was hoping i could run mephis on dial up but cant find out how in 6.5
