HI Group,

(1) I am wondering what is difference between in setting up static route with 2 NICs in Linux and setting up "Bridge" with 2 NIcs by using briding-utils.

What is the difference between them?

(2) Let say, I have two NICs with public IP addresss. Will it be routed automatically after enabling ip_forward=1 in sysctl.conf? Do I need to add static route with "route add" command?

(3) What about routing in same subnets? I mean just install Linux box in the middle of Switch and Hub and monitor and administer in one subnet?

(4) Will IP be routed if I use private IP in the same senario as in No. (2)?
