    need help to find Linux driver for ethernet.


    I have googled till iI am blue in the face but cannot seem to find a driver for this ethernet chip.
    CICADA VSC 8201 Gigabit LAN PHY chip

    Can anyone help.

    It could be that there is no support for this chip yet. I tried to upgrade my server to gigabit lan, but there was no support for the new gigabit card I bought.

    It might help you to get on the relevant mailing lists for lan drivers in the Linux kernel, you might see announcements float through then. In the meantime, if you cant even get the card to work as a 100Mb card, then get a cheapo realtek8139 card (or even go a little further and buy a PCI gigabit card that is supported).
