Network Card issue in Mandrake 10

Tne first time I booted up everything workd fine.

The 2nd time I booted up eth0 failed.

When I did a service network restart eth0 still failed.

I did a tail -f on syslog and I get this error messag4e
"Failed to detect plug status of eth0"

Any ideas. I don't know how to blow the stuff away and readd it.

Did you check the ethernet cable's connection?

Perhaps the plug is not quite seated firmly so the driver cannot tell if it is plugged in? Try unplugging it. The driver should then say that it is not plugged in. Try plugging it back in.
