Does anybody know of a tool you can use to use Hotmail as a file storer?
I want something thats like roamdrive www.roamdrive.com
Basically you can upload files from your hard drive to the hotmail server and download it again. Great for backups!
I tried installing it on WINE put it required the .net framework.
So if any one know's of a tool or a way af getting roamdrive to work with linux, pleas reply!!!

You can mount gmail accounts as a regular fs in Linux.. 2GB and counting. For Hotmail I don't know, but if you want a Gmail account, let me know, I'll help you out. Don't know what the utility's called though.

is it against the Gmail end user agreement to use this software?
I would imagine running the software must not be allowed. Has anyone been booted from Gmail for running this?
Gmail only lets you send +-10 megs with any given email, and so I would expect them to be suspiscious if there were files that were 20+ megs associated to a user account.
maybe im just being paranoid but Id rather not have to change my username. I suppose I could always just make another gmail account and use it for file storage.
I don't think they have a problem with it, Yahoo! for example offers a 'briefcase' in which you can store 30MB of whatever you want, a similar solution. Don't worry! If it was illegal, why would anyone develop something like that for Linux?
