cant connect to network

hey.

i just got mandrakelinux 10.1 the other day and im having trouble connecting to the LAN that is set up here. the computer has a Xircom RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 , and its connected to a linksys router. i have gotten the "eth0" interface to work [supposedly], but i dont think any connection is being made. the router shows no sign of the computer being connected. please help me, i dont know what to do!

did you try connecting to the internet, pinging hosts, etc?
