I have a machine with 2 eth cards in running as a gateway.
when messing around and setting these up my network GUI crashed.
so I now have three scripts in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
ifcfg-eth0, ifcfg-eth1 & ifcfg-external.
where external was an alias I was using for one of the cards.
Can I just delete this file? Or do I need to tell the system that this file no longer exists.
when booting this device fails - as it doesn't really exist.
You can mpst probably delete it. One easy way to make sure is to move it someplace else, and if it doesn't work, just move it back.
