eth0 interface not visible after network restart
In my FC3 machine I am having two 1 gig Intel NICs. Some times the interface eth0 won't be visible through ifconfig command after "service network restart", but eth1 will be visible always. At the same I can ping the IP of eth0. If I restart the network once again or issue the command "ifup eth0" the interface eth0 coming up and you can see it through ifconfig command. What may be the reason. Can any one help me to fix the issue.
Thanks in advance.
Re: eth0 interface not visible after network restart
please post the results of these commands so we can see your configuration settings
and make some judgement about what to change:
1. netstat -rn
3. cat /etc/sysconfig network
4. cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1
5. cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
6. cat /etc/hosts
7. lspci -v
