Home Networking - pls help
pls, I would need some help with my setting up of my pc as a DHCP server. I use RedHat 9.1 which has been doing well since i installed it. The server is linux and the client is windows XP
I bought a PCI card, installed it on my server and rebooted. The PCI card was recognized at bootup time and configured. I followed details as per a tutorial "Home Network - Mini How to" I found on the web. I configured both cards. etc.
My isp gave me one IP which is on my linux pc. After setting thisngs up, from my windows pc, I can ping the Linux computers IP, however I cant ping the default gateway assigned. i get "request timed out errors". Also note that I can access the internet from my linux server. however, "ping yahoo.com" requests from my windows pc returns "request timed out" errors"
i also get timeouts from my linux server when i try piinging the 192.168.1.5 IP i assiigned on my windows PC.
